Hope and Healing WorshipTeam at the Awaken Northwest Workshop

Dear Free Indeed Ministries Intercessors,

Knitting the body together in love… by re-connecting and updating with Daniel’s family of origin and the body of Christ in Spokane

Preparing for and participating in these two gatherings left us a little tired, but ever so satisfied.

The live wires at our Grether family reunion were the eleven in the youngest generation, ages 16-8. They ate and played together happily and found bodies of water (pools, a lake, and a river) to swim in day and night. What a joy it was to watch these children from Texas, Nevada and Spokane reconnect instantly two years after their last time together.

The Church in Spokane is blessed with a large population of Russian/Ukraine-speaking Slavic immigrants from the previous USSR who immigrated here for religious freedom. Robby got to know hundreds of them well when she worked at World Relief helping them prepare for their United States citizenship. Daniel also met Slavic pastors and leaders during his years with Mission Spokane.

This month we both renewed our friendship with Pastor Alex Kaprian of Pilgrim Slavic Baptist Church on Second and Lincoln in downtown Spokane. We also became well acquainted with a number of the younger generation in the church, including Deacon Yuri Anischenko and his Hope and Healing Worship team.

Free Indeed’s mission statement is “Knitting the Church together in love by equipping leaders, connecting communities and catalyzing movements.” This is what we were living out as we gave a helping hand to the young Slavic team as they led an Awaken Northwest Workshop Activate! designed to help prepare Spokane for and lead us into the new movement of God that is in its early stages.

Answered Prayers for June 2019

Answers in italics.

June 1-June 3, Robby will be with her mother Carol in Seattle on her 97th birthday Monday. Robby and Carol plus her brother Garth had a good visit.

June 2, Sunday afternoon, Yuri Anischenko and Daniel share kingdom conversation over a meal. This conversation turned into a month of walking closely together from June 2nd through the 29th. Robby and I joined a meeting in Yuri’s home on the 7th which included his two senior pastors, Alex Kaprian and Victor Anischenko, local leader Neil Gamble and several others during which Yuri shared his testimony of what God has done in his life over the last eighteen months and what the Lord is leading him to do now. We joined Yuri and his Hope and Healing worship team at Off-Broadway Family Outreach’s HUB for a Pentecost service on the 9th. Between the 10th and 14th, he was introduced to Kaleb Fisher, Steven Damerville, Toby Mitchell and our Free Indeed Ministries team. Then we joined Yuri’s team, Neil Gamble and others for the Awaken Northwest Workshop: Activate! from Wednesday evening the 26th through all days-evenings Thursday-Saturday the 29th. It was a significant time with more to come. The Lord Jesus is for sure knitting his body together in love and strengthening the harvest network for a mighty harvest. Ephesians 4:7-16, especially 15-16:

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

June 5-6, Table 71 meeting in Orlando. We will be working on three new “zeroes” from our last meeting: Kingdom Workplace Mobilization, Proclamation, and Church Mobilization. A highlight was meeting two key leaders from Saddleback Church in southern California. Saddleback has hosted the Finishing the Task (FTT) annual meetings for the last several years and will now be taking more of the leadership responsibility for FTT.

June 14, Free Indeed Ministries Int’l team and Yuri Anischenko meet together. Pray also for the Lord to clearly lead us to the other young men and women that he has in mind to work closely with Free Indeed. What a privilege and joy to welcome into our team meeting this fired-up young man who carries a similar vision to ours. The Lord promised on the day in 2013 that Daniel met Joel Endress to bring other “nothing by the best” young men into conjunction with Free Indeed, and he is.

June 17, Peter Carlson of Corvallis, Jason Hubbard of Bellingham and Daniel Grether of Spokane (with an additional person from each city) will have our first hour of three-cities triplet prayer by Zoom. A change in a plane schedule prevented our prayer call.

June 20-24, the descendants of my parents, Fred and Sarah Grether, are converging on Spokane for a Grether Family Reunion. Members of our family converged from four other states to join the Grethers-Morrisons here for a total of twenty-six attendees. All of my siblings and their spouses, plus a number of our children, their spouses and eleven of our combined grandchildren made for a great three-generational gathering with lots of love, eating, talking and play.

June 21, our 16-year old grandson, Nate Morrison, departs for his 5-week Royal Servants Mission Trip to Costa Rica. Nate had a great time at the Training Camp in Wisconsin and flew with his team to Costa Rica on Sunday, the 30th. Please continue to pray for him until his return home on July 28th.

Prayer Requests for July 2019

Please join us in praying for the next month of life and ministry:

July has our regular meetings on the calendar and again a lot of room for more divine appointments. It’s working a lot better to let the Lord lead us to the most fruitful ministry.

July 2, Four of us from the regional Cascadia Coalition are gathering to pray for this network which is undergoing a leadership transition.

July 3-6, Robby Grether visits her mother Carol Robertson and brother Garth Stacy in Seattle.

July 12, Free Indeed Ministries Int’l Team meeting, updating and planning.

July 15, Peter Carlson of Corvallis, Jason Hubbard of Bellingham and Daniel Grether of Spokane (with an additional person from each city) aim again to have our first hour of three cities triplet prayer by Zoom.

We are so grateful to have you standing with us in sustaining prayer. Much more happens because of your prayers than we can report. May your reward be great. We love and appreciate each of you so much!

Yours and Christ’s for a Spokane made radiant by the waves of God’s glory crashing over us that will, in turn, bless all the families and peoples of the earth,

Daniel and Robby Grether
